Eugene – From Rags to Riches!

Eugene is a name that comes from the Greek language meaning “noble” or “well-born”.

You wouldn’t guess that to look at him when we found him abandoned in a rural shelter.  His fur was patchy, matted and dirty.  His toenails were long and curled around.  He was downcast and down trodden.  Life had not been kind.  He was alone, scared and sad.

Eugene may not have been much to look at right then, but he was still a beautiful soul to us.  Eugene was busting out of there!

First stop was Country Hills Vet Hospital.  His hair was so matted they had to find his eyes!  They cleaned him up and began to care for his aches and pains.  They discovered Eugene is also blind.

Next stop was Minnesota and Safe Hands.  Here Eugene could rest and recover.  Here he would truly heal.

Eugene is so grateful for all the comforts his foster home provides – a comfy bed and lots of toys and his most prized possession…his monkey!  But of all his “riches”  that he has gathered since leaving the shelter, his most treasured item is the love that he has gotten from his foster mom.

Eugene is finally happy, handsome and living the life of a noble gent, as it should be.

Eugene is adoptable and still looking for a place to call home and a family to love him for the rest of his days!
