Roo – the tiniest puppy!

At three weeks old and weighing just 7 ounces Roo is the smallest pup we’ve had in Safe Hands Rescue.

She arrived with her mom and siblings (all over twice her size!).  She was struggling to breathe and she had to be put in an oxygen tent.

With warmth, antibiotics and her mom’s loving care she was soon able to rejoin her siblings.  Her favorite place to be was in the center of the puppy pile.

Or curled up with a blanket on sleeping on foster mom.

She grew (not too much though!) and gained strength and soon she was playing!

It was winter and she was just a tiny peanut.  She amassed quite the collection of children’s sock “sweaters”!

She tried her hand at modeling for a while…after all it did pay in peanut butter!

She even had a calendar made of her best work!  It is available for purchase HERE

And then she gave up all the fame and fortune to pursue a home and family of her own!

Roo has a new home and family with a devoted mom and dad,  a new name – Posey, and a sister just her size named Poppy!

    How is Roo doing?!

Posey-Roo is the sweetest, most lovable little dog we have ever met. She loves to cuddle and give kisses! Posey loves soft blankets, especially if they have just been removed from the dryer and are toasty warm! She and her sister Poppy will often climb into the same small basket in front of the fireplace and just snooze for an hour or three! They like to playfully wrestle, then take a nap……preferably on Mom or Dad’s lap. Posey has the sweetest personality and is so gentle and affectionate. The photos in this article from Posey’s early days and weeks just demonstrate the love and caring that is Safe Hands. Lynne and her team are simply amazing. The love they give to these dogs is truly unconditional. Thank you for nursing her back to health from a difficult beginning. The bottom line is we love Posey-Roo very much and are so thankful to Lynne and everyone at Safe Hands!
