Crate Drive for Safe Hands Rescue!

We are in desperate need of crates both in Minneapolis and down in Kentucky, so we are doing a crate drive! Please help us spread the word!

Crates can be new or used but must be in good condition, not rusted or cracked, and have a working door. We are looking for plastic crates sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7:

Size 4: 21”L x 15” W x 15”H – up to 15 lbs

Size 5: 28”L x 20.5”W x 21.5” H – 25-30 lbs

Size 6: 32”L x 22.5”W x 24” H = 30-50lbs

Size 7: 36”L x 25”W x 27” H = 50-70 lbs

We will also take large wire crates, preferably with two doors but will accept ones with one door. Preferred Sizes: 42″ long x 27″ wide and 48″ long by 29″ wide.

Please spread the word by copying and pasting this “ask” on your personal, Buy Nothing, Community, Garage Sale or Nextdoor FB pages and see if people have crates of those sizes they no longer want. We want to catch people during spring cleaning as they are cleaning out garages, basements and sheds!

If you are able to round up any crates that fit the need, we have drop off locations at our Minneapolis Headquarter, St, Paul, Champlin, Minnetonka, Apple Valley and New Brighton.

Please email Kira at donations@safehandsrescue.org for addresses. Crates should be broken down with the door nested between the top and bottom of the crate.

Please note: We do not need small cat sizes or large sizes that would fit a big Shepherd or St. Bernard and cannot use soft-sided carriers.

Thank you so much for your help, and please help spread the word! Crate Drive for Safe Hands Rescue!
